Maybe you might want to wait a few minutes to see if a DP input signal is received after completing step 5 before continuing on. Step 2 - Update Display adapter Expand the Display adapters option in Device Manager. Click on Device Manager from the search results. While I keep written notes on almost all troubleshooting I do on my PC, I seem to (vaguely) remember I didn't have to do steps 6 & 7. Step 1 - Open Device Manager Click on the search box in your taskbar. That's it ! I only had to do this once and the problem with 'No DP signal, going into power save mode never persisted again (This will give a no signal message, maybe even sleep mode and black screen) Go to the OSD and switch back to your original mDP or DP signal. Re-start your PC while waiting for your monitor to detect signal. Go to the on screen display (OSD) menu on the monitor and scroll to 'Input Source" or where it gives you the option to change the signal sourceĬhange the display port setting from DP or mDP depending on your default setting to HDMI / MHL DP and mini DP are exactly the same except for the connector unless you are running a 4k monitor Do not disconnect your DP or mDP cable (depending on the cable you use). If you can find an HDMI cable, with the system powered up, connect the cable to the HDMI port on your monitor and to your PC. These steps may be product specific and may not fix the problem for your model. Keep in mind that this worked for my monitor (U2417H) which uses a mini DP. The monitor wants to do a handshake with the video card but it needs to still be receiving a signal. At this point if you haven't already been tempted, you shouldn't have made tweaks to your systems settings (BIOS ,etc) What you might want to try are these steps that Dell Premium Support provided me. I don't want to get your hopes up, but you might find this to be a more simple fix than you had thought. Based on your post it sounds to be the same thing I once experienced with my new Dell Ultrasharp (not the same model though as yours).
